UPS goes boink

Since past few weeks, whenever I see dark clouds in the sky, there is invariably a power cut in Indiranagar. Just when I decide to work from home, there is no power. And this is just May.... I shudder to think about June and July.

Two days back I got an UPS from my company. I carried that heavy thing all over to home without much cribbing. I was all happy. I plugged in my modem to the UPS and awaited eagerly for the next power cut. I didn't have to wait for long :-P

And surprise, my UPS can only run for about five minutes after the power goes off. I tried charging it for the whole night and what I got was few more seconds extra.

Gah! I wish I could just burn the damn thing.

Haha, that's the way it is. UPS allows you to power down the system safely. If you really want to work offline, you need a laptop.
