Modak.... mmmmm!!!

I have been missing Mumbai for all the right reasons (read food) lately. It's completely different atmosphere there during Ganapati Festival. There is so much joy and energy everywhere, that you dont miss to notice it. huge idols, breathtaking decorations, grand rituals... everything is so amazing. People in Mumbai are sure fond of celebrating all the festivals.... and they do it in style.

Mom makes lots of sweets at home and I think I have been missing all this in Hyderabad. But today one fella from my team got some Modaks in office and I was so happpy.

Ganapati Bappa Moraya.....

Ok, for those who don't know what it is, here is some info. It is authentic Maharastrian delicacy. It is made with rice flour and coconut. It is steamed, it is sweet and it is damn tasty. It looks like this.

And I just love it.

PS - Alex, don't dare to try out this recipe, it is very DIFFICULT. :-D

V, all this after talking me out of coming over for what seemed to like hours? LOL. I hope you'll take me to Mumbai ((-;

Hmm Momo's are those tibetan meat preparations as far as I remember.Both are really tasty affairs. We should not be trying it out in the first place. You should make it and ship it to the first five people who commented. What say ??
