Why I like Bangalore!

When I moved to Bangalore, I was all happy to see the Times of India here.... Ok, Bangalore times actually.

I don't read any gossips on page 1 and all page 3 photos are useless junk. I don't find any of those actors and actresses interesting enough. Only thing I crave for is page 2. Oh Boy, I like all those cartoon strips there.

"Garfield" is a nice start. That snobbish cat sets your mood right for the rest of them. :-)

Then comes "Beau Peep". I like that arrogant, dirty cook with I-Don't-care attitude.

"Between Friends" is a nice change. All about women (read middle aged women) and it's still funny. I don't like the way their eyes are drawn though. They manage to look sad and surprised at the same time. LOL.

I liked "The wizard of Id", when it used to be in Sunday Times in Bombay. That tiny hobbit king is fun. It's amazing the way he rules his peasants. All that politics tickles you.

"Archie" is ok. I mean, it could never do anything more than a smile. But there are no complains as well :-P

I started liking "Peanuts" after I started reading it here. :-) The strip looks nice in color and I like it when they don't have just a dog and a bird in it. Are you listening?

"Animal Crackers" can be very funny sometimes. Lyle is my favorite. I wish they could get some tiger character in it. :-D

And the last one is awesome... "Calvin and Hobbes". I can't decide whether I like this page for C&H or for all other strips.

Ok, they have one block for "Dennis the menace". It's kinda difficult to show a whole story in a single picture, and the fella manages to do it brilliantly. I like the way Dennis' hair fall on his eyes...... cuuuuuuuuuuuute.

I am just too happy to read this page.

Well said. You know, the C&H strip is the single reason you can forgive ToI for everythig else. How can something that's supposed to be a newspaper manages to be such utter trash is beyond me.

ditto with etv's sentiments :)..

Though a peanuts strip without the dog would be an empty affair ;D
